Do u think assault rifles be banned here in the US ?

Its about time we looked at this story once again. But what about assault rifles in the US ?
What do you think. Are they really necessary ? I mean any gun can kill you. But these type of guns are for war mainly. It was built to destroy you from the inside out. What do you think SW.
Should assault rifles be banned in the US. 🤔

They’re already more or less banned. Getting a hold of a legal assault rifle will cost you massive amount of money, they’re rare as hens teeth.

Coincidentally, they’re virtually absent from crime.

@QuixoticSoul They are more common than you think. And people have the money to get them on the streets.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Zonuss They are seriously uncommon and very expensive. Well out of price range of criminals.

@QuixoticSoul But criminals get them all the time. Look at the rise in mass shootings. Clearly this is not as difficult as you may think sir. Its not getting better. 🤔

@QuixoticSoul Anyone can get an AM-15 for $600.

@Zonuss Not a single mass shooting has been perpetrated with an assault rifle.

Even the crazy Vegas nutbag had to resort to goofy modifications, and that was about the only tactical situation we’ve seen where full-auto was an “advantage”.

@Zonuss AR-15s aren’t assault rifles. Select-fire capability is part of that classification.

Does this mean you don’t think the list of shooters committing mass murder, that everyone reading this is aware of, are criminals? @QuixoticSoul
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@QuixoticSoul Semi autos are just as dangerous.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Zonuss Yes, semi-auto is just as dangerous. But by definition, assault rifles are not semi-auto.

@nonny Not one of those shooters had an assault rifle.

Really, the only people who have legal assault rifles in the US are high-end collectors.

@QuixoticSoul So what do you think should be done.

@Zonuss I like the Czech model myself. It’s fairly permissive, with gun ownership being protected in the constitution - but avoids the more retarded aspects of the free for all way we do things in the US. Licensing, tracking private sales, “good character” provisions, etc.

But you can still get a semi-auto rifle in the Czech Republic, and I think that’s ok.

The occasional determined psycho is very difficult to stop. But some basic measures do wonders for keeping guns out of hands of typical criminals.

Problem is - it’s not just a cosmetic fix, and would require changes to the 2nd amendment.
