Has Donald Trump made White people fear their own existence ?

Or well being. He is telling you that diversity is wrong. Black and Mexicans are to blame for your problems. And that this country is for Whites only while everyone is seen as illegal or an immigrant. You are privileged so you have a right to feel entitled.
Is this what his base think ? I believe so. What about you ? 🙂

You are giving Trump more credit than he deserves. He's not that powerful. No single human is. The power goes the other way, the plebs empowering their political proxies. So Trump is just a reflection of identity issues already fermenting in the culture.

I'm just going to talk about the giant neon green elephant making sparks in the middle of the room.

The demographics of American society are changing. Part of that is the demographics of this hemisphere. White people are increasingly the minority, and increasingly not the most important thing going on.

Part of that is American society itself. Minorities are increasingly present and participating in government. They are defining and influencing culture. This congressional junior class is pushing on many white people's buttons.

The big question for white Americans is whether their struggles are because Jesus came to American illegally to pick strawberries... or if their struggles are because Khaled brought his family from Syria and runs a gyro counter while he sends his daughter to college.... or if their struggles are because their government from top to bottom has fucked them.

Agreed. His messaging wouldn’t have resonated had there not already been a large swath of the population that was angry, anxious, and primed for it. @CopperCicada

@SW-User If Donald Trump ran for President in 2004 in the wake of 9/11 he would have been rejcted in a big way. Its just that the US has gotten a lot browner since then. 🙂

Plus, he hadn’t had that run on The Apprentice where he was pushed into every rube’s living room for the better part of a decade. The persona that was manufactured for that show (along with that birtherism nonsense) had a lot to do with the perception people had of him going into his political career. @Zonuss

@SW-User Truth is Obama was the last straw for people who follow the Nationalist ideology. 🙂

Hence Trump’s clearly racist birtherism idiocy gained traction and found an all too willing audience.

After all, Obama obviously couldn’t be one of us, so he had to be from somewhere other than America. 🙄 @Zonuss

@SW-User You're right about that. But it's the "priming" that is the big mind fuck. They were primed to beat their chests over the wrong "enemy." They've ended up supporting their real enemy. For quite a while now.
