Another Uk Government minister resigns.

This guy did so on principle because he couldn't go along with the crazy and dangerous decisions of the prime minister... his brother.

You only get a bi-election if someone resigns as anMP.You are under no obligation to continue representing the party you were elected for.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales He's resigned as minister but you are right. Personally I think is soneone leaves a party they shoulf have an immediate by election.

Boris has withdrawn the whip from about twenty MPs though and that effectively means kicking them out of the party. I don't know if they should restand because they don't have a choice. The man making most of the decisions at the moment is Dominic Cummings and he has never even been a Tory Party member. Recently fired Chancellor, Phillip Hammond is perhaps right to question who is the real Conservative. Its a question that cuts deep into the battle for the soul of his party.

There is a real war in the Conservatives at the moment between the populist right and the moderate neo liberals. The populist right are winning.

It’s been an honour to represent Orpington for 9 years & to serve as a minister under three PMs. In recent weeks I’ve been torn between family loyalty and the national interest - it’s an unresolvable tension & time for others to take on my roles as MP & Minister. #overandout

His tweet. I read that as quit as MP, hence my point that this must trigger a by election.

@SW-User He's not resigned from the party though, just the government.

@SW-User He is apparantly thinking of standing down at the next gen election. He probably thinks there will not be too long to wait.
