It's because gang-related crime is isolated and uninteresting. It doesn't inflame the public psyche like a random shooting of a crowd at a common place like a Wal-Mart or a school. Gang shootings in a place like Chicago are remote to most Americans. A shooting at a Wal-Mart is more relatable. Some mass shooters have been black and have received plenty of attention. Stop making everything about race. The issue isn't the race of the perpetrators, it's the type of crime.

@graywanderer Chicago's gun control legislation is essentially unenforceable, for reasons entirely out of the city's control. That in itself is meaningless.
