Parliament has had more than enough time to agree upon something, but instead of working together have childishly been blocking any and all proposals. A situation which could potentially have gone on endlessly. This move at least breaks that deadlock by making their objections immaterial and moves us forward in some direction.

@Quizzical I know many people who voted leave, I don't know any who voted to leave without a deal!
There is a deal on the table, mps voted it down. People wanted to take back control, now they don't like It!

@Harriet03 Yes May deal is still on the table and is the ONLY deal alvailable, boris has broguth on this mess he and many others voted may deal down for one reason for thier own power struggle to be the next leader.
the problem was may didn't ask the oppersition until it was to late to do anything, the tories haven't accpeted they can't get anything done unless they talk to the opperstiion.
