Most people don't know their history.

Many of the realities of HW's presidency are not well understood by the public.

He will go down as one of the most influential and highly qualified presidents of the modern age.

I think people automatically view one term Presidents as failures without really looking beyond that to see why they were one term. Bush 41 could have easily been a two term President had he ignored the widening deficit and been a wartime President in ‘92 by invading Iraq. He probably would have been untouchable. Instead, he made two key politically costly yet correct decisions. Those two decisions put Clinton in the position to preside over balanced budgets later, because without either, the likelihood of balanced budgets by the end of the decade would have been almost nil. @JoeyFoxx

@SW-User Agreed. Clinton's first term was perfectly executed where he took the momentum built by HW.

Unfortunately, W wasn't nearly the President his father was. Dick Cheney is the devil incarnate.
