I like Carter as a human being, and I think he’s done amazing work after leaving office. Habitat for Humanity is an incredible legacy to leave the world. My issue with Carter was his ineffectiveness while in office. He had the deck stacked in his favor with his party also having Congressional control, but somehow, his administration managed to retain its outsider veneer to such a degree that they alienated Congressional leaders from their own party. I won’t judge him for the rotten hand he was dealt, but had he and his people built bridges instead of burning them with Congress, he could have been much more effective than he turned out to be. @SW-User
