Do u believe Donald Trump is to blame for the recent shootings in the US ? 🤔

As it stands today. It appears that Trump has emboldened these White Nationalists to commit these acts of terror. The recent events in our world today says everything. You saw the shootings in Texas and Ohio. White Nationalism, or nationalism from any ethnic group or race is the problem here. If we do not call it for what it is this tragedy will never end. Something needs to be done. But these racist comments from Trump must end. What do you think. 😐

I don't like Trump as president, but I believe in people needing to take responsibilities for their own actions and while Trump being in office may have had some influence, ultimately it was still those who had the guns who decided to do what they did, not him.
@butterfly1013 The problem with that is the person who incites and enables violence is also responsible for their actions. Otherwise Charlie Manson and every Mafia Don in prison should be released because they did not personally pull the trigger.

You’re confused not surprisingly. You’re referring to conspiracy convictions. @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

@butterfly1013 Trump is using his words to empower these terrorists. Therefore he is partly to blame because of it. 🙂
@jackjjackson Another completely irrelevant comment from Jack. It must be a day that ends in y.
@jackjjackson A facebook meme is not an argument.

It’s an image of head shaking at your foolishness. @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

@butterfly1013 what part of "incite" don't you get?

The problem with the Manson comparison is that Manson actually instructed Tex Watson and the girls to go do that. On the second night, Manson even went along and helped tie up the Labianca’s. I think it’s completely fair to say Trump inspired the El Paso shooter considering the language used by the shooter in his online post right before he did it. However, that’s different than actually giving instructions and then leaning into the car as Tex and the girls are driving to Sharon Tate’s house and saying “leave something witchy”. Unless Trump actually directed the shooter, his culpability stops at the inspiration he provided and the tone he set, which is bad enough.

@SW-User I don't disagree but my main point was that saying the person who pulled the trigger is the only real responsible party is the problem. Based on that analysis it doesn't really matter if they are instructed or inspired because they chose to do it regardless. My point was ignoring the responsibility of other actors is flawed.

@SW-User Then he needs to change his tone.

I think we’re close to be on the same page. I’m just saying there are varying degrees of inspiration and incitement. Manson’s involvement was very direct whereas Trump is just setting an overall tone. The vast majority of people who agree with Trump haven’t gone out and committed acts of violence, though. I despise Trump’s tone, rhetoric, and his contribution to dragging discourse into the sewer, but I just can’t go so far as to blame him for the actions of another individual who chose to interpret his words as a call to murder.

I agree 100%. He does need to change his tone, but at this point, I don’t see him changing anything. That would require growth, introspection, and maturity, which seems impossible for him. He lacks basic decency, integrity, empathy, and humanity, and I don’t expect him to suddenly develop into something he isn’t at this stage. This is who he is, and I believe what we’re seeing now is nothing compared to what’s in store for us all next year. @Zonuss

@SW-User I totally agree.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow he never said anything about inciting violence towards another. trump isnt the problem he isnt telling people to go out and shoot or attack people. the el paso kid had a history of hate towards mexicans and illegals. he apparently got riled up after the democratic debates not trump. it was when they were talking about open borders and healthcare for illegals that set him over the edge. cant blame trump for that. cant blame trump for democrats not being responsible about immigration. most people who are not for illegal immigration arent bigots or white supremacists as a lot of black and hispanics want legal immigration only. democrats use to want legal immigration hell obama made those cages and deported 2.5 million illegals and now there is a switch on the policy for votes and that set that kid off as he felt that would have made his state switch and make it hard for the environment. nothing trump has talked on created this incident.
@SW-User I agree with you at least as far as things are so far but I am very worried. Most of the tyrants of history did not start out with extremes. Often it is a gradual escalation.
@winchesterbros You can't blame Trump and the right for framing it in that manner and pouring gasoline on xenophobia like that. Your open borders bs is a fiction of Fox news and th right wing radio.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow im an independent and no its what really happened. leftist just like to say their shit and not like what really is. its not trumps fault at all. obama said the same things that trump did, did we have this, no we got this when the democrats went against policy.
@winchesterbros Yeah an independent singing the blame Obama song. I believe that. And if you look beyond soundbites on Fox nobody is suggesting open borders.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@winchesterbros No. Obama didn't call White people rapists, drug dealers, gangsters, and assumed some of them are good people. Sounds quite ignorant to me not to mention patronizing. 🙄
@Zonuss he did say about crime and drugs.
@winchesterbros He implied an entire nation and everyone from it were criminals and drug dealers. There is a difference.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow yeah they are. they want ice abolished, they want the containment centers to close, they want to decriminalize coming over the border. free healthcare. no border barrier, yep they sure dont want open borders.
