James Comey was just referred to the Attorney General for prosecution and the AG has declined to prosecute. Your thoughts?

He was referred for prosecution because he took classified material from the FBI to his own home and stored it for at least a month in his home, an unsecured private location. That is a violation of US Code 1082.

John Durham, a US Attorney who is investigating many things from the 2016 election for prosecution continues his investigation of Comey.

I have heard that the AG will not prosecute this because he is waiting to prosecute Comey for much larger issues, which will come to light fairly soon.

I think the whole mess will never be untangled and amnesty should be declared for every-damn-body .

Instead of enriching lawyers and media personnel and distracting from the technical purpose of those folks in Washington - running the country.

Spend the time and money developing better controls and oversight so it can’t happen again.

There’s nobody in politics for more than 15 minutes who hasn’t broken the law. This is all the ultimate hypocrisy.

They’re never really going to pay for any of it.

@Mamapolo2016 I think in this one instance I might disagree. There is an actual purpose in prosecuting the 2016 players, IMO.

First, if they are prosecuted as the criminals they actually are, it will deter others from doing the same sorts of things in the future, and that's the whole point...to clean up Dodge.
Of course they are criminals. They ALL are.

But major players don’t go to jail for long. Then they become pundits. It’s a waste of time, energy, and money,

@Mamapolo2016 Let's hope it is not.
What happened to Nixon? Resignation
Watergate investigation in dollars of that time - $26 million.

What happened to Clinton? Nothing. - “multi-million investigation.”

I know those figures are trifling government-wise, but they were wasted.

“Investigations” are what they do to keep us from noticing important things.@4meAndyou

@Mamapolo2016 Yes, a case could be made that Comey engineered the entire Mueller investigation, which cost the taxpayers at least $25 million, (at last count), and possibly more, based on a false document or hoax.
