Nobody has ever won an election as an independent ticket. But I think Bernie has enough funds and brand name to try.
GunSmoke9 · 56-60, M
@SimplyTracie No I never said that. There are times when Government is needed. Food inspections, keeping an eye on the oil, coal industries. Ect. How much is too much government? Smoking in bars should be left up to the owners, not the local government. Some places kids need a permit just to sell lemon ice. Ect.
We need to study the pros and cons of privatizing the post office.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@GunSmoke9 I know you didn’t say that. I’m just curious to know where you draw the line over government control on private industry.

Should government control the price of prescription drugs?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@GunSmoke9 I totally agree.. And that is the point of socialism. To do the things the free market will not do on its own, to balance the books for the people. In other words, to keep capitalism honest and provide that which doesnt show an immediate profit, but is a long term resource, like a healthy, educated workforce, clean water, air and food.

Firespirit · 26-30, M
Cause america is a 2 party system independents don't have a chance
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Firespirit Gotcha
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@SimplyTracie Tho if you are looking for a good person vote vermin supreme
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Firespirit Eek 😬
calicuz · 51-55, M
Because no matter how good an independent candidate is, he/she will not get enough electoral votes needed to win.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@calicuz Ohhh.
Coz he's a democrat every 4 year to get democratic wotes, but he isn't ready to support his "colleagues" in case he loses the primary, then he'll just turn independent again.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@SapphicHeart 😂😂😂
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@SapphicHeart Not every four years. I think this is the second and last time.
@QuixoticSoul
Sarcasm is at times well placed. I thought this was one of those times. There's no doubt that he didn't exactly tried to go length to help his "party" to win the election. Anyway, we will see how he plays along when losing this time but my fears is he will run away ones more and do nothing to guide his supporters to vote accordingly to the party he wants to represent should he win the primary himself.
@SimplyTracie In the Senate, he caucuses with the Democrats. He is an Independent only as it relates to local Vermont politics. If he ran for president as an Independent, not only would he not stand a chance, he would take a significant number of votes away from the Democrats.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@quitwhendone Tulsi should run for Senator against Mazie Hirono. She would win.
@SimplyTracie Mazie isn't bad but I like Tulsi better.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@quitwhendone I agree
beckyromero · 36-40, F
Bernie isn't interested in winning. He's only interested in pushing the Democrat Party farther and farther to the left.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@beckyromero Hmmm, I think he wants to win.
beckyromero · 36-40, F
@SimplyTracie

I think for Bernie, pushing the Democrat Party farther and farther to the left would be considered a win for him.
third party candidates have served as spoilers . He is working within the DNC framework to make changes...and help raise money?
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Texasgurl I think the DNC screwed him over in 2016.
they did@SimplyTracie
vetguy1991 · 51-55, M
He would do very poorly as an independent
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@vetguy1991 Do you do that too?
vetguy1991 · 51-55, M
@SimplyTracie no I don't
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@vetguy1991 Good for you. 😊
Anonymouslyyours86 · 36-40, F
Cause he’s a loner
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Anonymouslyyours86 Is that why? 😬
Anonymouslyyours86 · 36-40, F
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
Because it’s literally pointless.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@QuixoticSoul Gotcha
Hippymobiler70 · 26-30, M
Cause he’d lose
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Hippymobiler70 Thank you
HeyRouben · 41-45, M
I think because he would have less chance to win a presidential race
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@HeyRouben Yes I know. Is my question one of them?
HeyRouben · 41-45, M
@SimplyTracie no SimplyTracie is not.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@HeyRouben Thank you 😊

@fallenite What does it take to become a communist? Do you gotta fall in love with people like Kim Jong Un and send love letters to each other?
