I have a stupid question.

If Bernie Sanders is an Independent, why doesn’t he run as such in the presidential election?

@SimplyTracie In the Senate, he caucuses with the Democrats. He is an Independent only as it relates to local Vermont politics. If he ran for president as an Independent, not only would he not stand a chance, he would take a significant number of votes away from the Democrats.

@quitwhendone Gotcha. I so dislike politics
@SimplyTracie You might dislike it but you should not ignore it. If you pay no attention to the politicians and the issues you can wind up with a really bad president or congress. And they wield a lot of power over our lives.

@quitwhendone I do pay attention and we wound up with a really bad President and Congress. 🤷‍♀️
@SimplyTracie Did you vote?
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@quitwhendone Yes I did

I voted in my head
@SimplyTracie Good. Did you vote for Tulsi?
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@quitwhendone Yes I did and I will again
@SimplyTracie I like her. She can't win the nomination but she has a chance of being the vice-presidential nominee or a cabinet position.
So who are you supporting in the primary?

I’m voting
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@quitwhendone Yes absolutely

@quitwhendone Tulsi should run for Senator against Mazie Hirono. She would win.
@SimplyTracie Mazie isn't bad but I like Tulsi better.

@quitwhendone I agree
