Our 2003 invasion of Iraq, created a situation, that cost millions of civilian lives, children included, and destabilized the entire world.
70 dead children is too many dead children, but our sanctions on Iraq, caused tens of thousands of Iraqi children to die.
If we did not want Saddam, we should NOT have let him become Saddam, but at the time, he was OK, because we egged him on to wage war against Iran.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow It's not about Brzezinski, but she cannot stop spinning, when her main argument is defeated. Pretty soon, she will respond with "but adequate acquirer levels are important to California's agricultural sector, so why couldn't you state that clearly in your response"....

@Northwest
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow likes to argue about anything I post, hence her remarking about Brzezinski.
My main argument is what I wrote in the question:
"That bastardly butcher Hussein DESERVED to hang -- and did!"
If you want to argue about that, be my guest and go ahead and defend him.

My worry with thinking like that is suppose another nation thought the same about the U.S current treatment of children of illegals currently struggling to survive in camps of the U.S own making AT HOME ?

@Budwick Do you or do you not believe that children have died in the concentration camps. Oh, sorry, I know how deeply you feel about being politically correct, so let me rephrase:
Do you or do you not believe that children have died in the "detention centers" (wink wink, nudge nudge)?

That’s probably true, but it’s rather beside the point. The west was certainly right to protect Kuwait from Iraq, but beyond that a Sunni Iraq was an effective buffer against the much more dangerous Iran, as people are now beginning to realise.

Excellent analysis @MartinII

It's too bad Bush jr didn't have a solid plan, or solid advice, on how to deal with Iraq after Hussein.
daisymay · 51-55, T
@beckyromero That's just what they want you to think 😏

@beckyromero If they were at all creative things might have been moped up quicker.

No, they were completely in the wrong. Fucking around in other countries half way around the world is a waste of time. If you're going to put troops in another country it better be all out war, and you better conquer them completely. Otherwise you're just going to destabilize everything and cause worse problems than any war would.

@beckyromero Yeah because an organization designed to keep peace is a perfect pretext for violating peace and creating more war.
And he was created by the US. That is kind of the definition of a CIA asset. They helped him take power and he was their pet tyrant. The US knew he had chemical weapons in 1991 because Rumsfeld had the receipts. The US also provided the targeting data to gas the Kurds. He picked a war with Iran on American orders and the only reason he was suddenly a problem in 1991 is he went off script with Kuwait. But his CIA backing was also why he was sure he would be allowed to get away with it. After all Washington already helped him commit mass murder. He's is not the first CIA monster to go rogue and won't be the last.

The Ba'ath Party came to power in a coup in 1968, overthrowing Faisal II.
Iraq then become aligned with the Soviet Union, signing a 15-year Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation with the Soviets in 1972, who supplied most of Iraq's weapons, tanks and combat aircraft.
Yeah, sure sounds like a typical CIA coup, huh?
Please peddle your BS elsewhere.

Yes there are many more to be discovered I'm sure.. So called ethnic cleansing using chemicals and gas warfare claimed hundreds of thousands of innocent lives... That bastard deserved to die many times...
