How do you feel about McConnell calling for Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid cuts after passing a 1.5 trillion tax cut for the top 1%?

Is American Social Security not paid to give some level of financial help in times of need?

Social Security is taken out of every worker's paycheck. If you don't work, you can't draw funds from it, (widows, widowers, etc. are the exception). Social Security is not an "entitlement" as the Republicans keep saying. It is not theirs to give away. Each of you has individual accounts you’ve paid into for decades. That’s why your “benefit” is predicated on your contributions. This is your money, not a handout. Many Americans rely on this income to live on when they retire (albeit a small one) or income to live on if they become disabled. It is all the retirement income many have.

By cutting Social Security to reduce the debt (caused by tax cuts for the rich), is this not money flowing from the general population up to the rich?

Actually, is this not theft...

Is there a Republican brave enough to answer this question for me?

I'm still trying to figure out how to cut income taxes to people who do not pay income taxes. When you figure that one out, let me know

@sunsporter1649 I know you’re acting out your particular brand of retard here, but in civilized countries, the spirit of what you’re talking about is generally done through social services - and also, the fact that such a huge chunk of the country is fucking broke is considered a problem as well.

But not for the hopeless rightoids, they prefer to grandstand.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul So you don't know how to do it either, and prefer to grandstand, is that it?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 I just told you what to do.

May I suggest you utilize your brain power more productively? 🤭

@SimplyTracie You want me to figure out a way to make folks who pay no income taxes start paying income taxes?
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@sunsporter1649 That’s what you said you’re doing. Seems like a total waste of time.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie As big a waste of time as punishing those hard working citizens by raising taxes on them to pay for the illegal immigrants freebies
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@sunsporter1649 I believe the post is about Social Security and Medicare benefits.

Do you believe it’s right to cut these benefits to balance the budget?

Please respond accordingly. 🤭
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie LOL, its a much larger question than just Security Security and Medicare cuts, its about cuts in all areas of the Federal Government that are not currently of benefit to the majority of citizens
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@sunsporter1649 Yes, there are other issues but it’s not what is being asked at this time.

Please focus. 😄
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie LOL, like I stated, the problem is much larger than just cherry picking some aspects of the proposed budget
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@sunsporter1649 Grrr 😬
Should the Senate approve a bill that would cut these benefits in order to balance the budget?
Yes or No
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie LOL, what cuts, there is merely a slowing in the rate of growth
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@sunsporter1649 Jeez. Focus. 😂
Why don’t you answer a simple question? Should we slash Social Security and Medicare benefits to help balance the budget?

Will you or do you now depend on these benefits?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie Apparently you lack reading comprehension. An increase in benefits, even if it is not up to previous increases, is not a cut
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@sunsporter1649 That’s not the question you silly man. 😝
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie Since there are no cuts, where is your problem with the budget? Miss Nancy apparently approves
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@sunsporter1649 That’s where you
and I don’t agree. There is a huge deficit with the budget and I feel it is a problem. You and Nancy must believe that being fiscally responsible isn’t important.

Go figure.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie LOL, since when has any politician since Newt Gingrich done anything to balance the budget?
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@sunsporter1649 Just because it’s become standard operating procedure doesn’t mean it not a problem.

I know that Trump loves debt but I don’t think it’s a good thing for the country.
Maybe it is a good thing and I just don’t understand it all.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie We do not have a revenue problem here, we have a spending problem. And the compromise budget proposal is a last ditch attempt to open the purse strings before the budget constraints passed in 2011 take effect in 2021
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@sunsporter1649 Either cut spending or increase revenue. Clearly, revenues haven’t lived up to expectations. Sooo you need to make adjustments to your freakin spending.

What do you propose we cut back on? Medicare benefits? Military? What?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie For starters, I would eliminate the Department of Education and Homeland Security. I don't think the people of Alaska care what some faceless bureaucrat in DC thinks that the folks in Alaska should be taught, and Homeland Security's work is merely duplication of what the FBI already does.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@sunsporter1649 I agree. For starters, Betsy DeVos should resign and say the department is not necessary. Take a stand. Right?

DHS as a purpose but their duties do overlap with the FBI. Just fix it.

AS for me, I agree with Trumps campaign promise to get out of the Middle East wars. That will save a few dollars.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie I would think the people of the individual states would know a whole lot more about what the education of their young should be, rather than what some government bureaucracy isolated inside the beltway does.

And I agree, as soon as the ragheads begin to act like human beings instead of animals we should leave them alone. Until then, the only thing holding the mess together is the threat of military interdiction by the various states against those who refuse to join modern society
