Doesn't matter who they were and yes the French did help us, prob. the first and last time. But this ragtag band of so called Hillbillies slapped King George silly. @MarmeeMarch Nah, that’s mostly overblown self-congratulations. The British also used skirmish warfare, and leaned on native Americans for a lot of woodland stuff and scouting (we responded with genocide and rape, all in a day’s work).

People weren’t idiots, continental armies fought like they did for good reasons. It was the only reliable way to create mass casualties on the battlefield at the time, and created decisive engagements.

In the end, we had to learn how as well - with French arms and help. And their navy.

Your 2nd Amendment calls for a "well regulated militia". A bunch of nutjobs waving around their dick substitutes does not constitute a well regulated militia. The only thing that its been successful in doing is directly causing the deaths of 32,000 Americans every year and, making mass shootings a national pastime. Even as the ink was drying on the document, it was destined to be little more than toilet paper.
