Let's say they use their social media accounts for official business related to their position and engaging with their constituents.

Should they be allowed to block people and prevent them from engaging in what could be considered a public forum?

Not one bit, it is a gross violation of first amendment freedom of speech for a politician to block anyone as they are our employees as government workers.

@NativeOregonian Gee, and all this time I thought freedom of speech included the freedom to ignore. How silly of me

@sunsporter1649 Not when you are working for the government.

@NativeOregonian You mean now upchuck schumer is gonna begin replying to my tweets to him?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 Nope, but he shouldn't be able to block what you are telling him either.

Many of my local reps allow people to give their opinions on issues on Twitter. Imagine if they had just blocked all their right-wing constituents. Wouldn't their polls be abit out of whack?

@Pherick You mean those polls that told everyone the hildabeeste would be the next President of the United States?

@sunsporter1649 Well unlike Hillary, trump did commit some crimes, whether he gets impeached or not, is anyone's guess. I am not really worried about it right now.

@Pherick LOL, and I have a bridge I want to sell you
