Did your political perspective change during the years?

What do you think is the most important factor? Aging, new information, something else?

I am a land owner, but I don't have much money, and I have to work hard (I'm a programmer and a technical writer). I used to be a conservative person, politically, thinking that free markets, and free enterprise, are the best way to go (it's what I learned at school and at home). I am no longer convinced about that. I now think that free markets contain self-destructing elements, some of which have been described by socialist theoreticians. Oh yes.

@helenS Socialist theoreticians have historically been far more successful with critique than solutions - starting with Marx himself.

@QuixoticSoul I fully agree with you on that.

@pagandad You're dreaming, dude. When we did things the laissez faire way, shit was completely intolerable. Free markets are fantastic at lots of things, but they tend to only increase wealth and income inequality.

My own wealth is mostly in my little farm, and in precious metals. I only keep my working cash in the bank.
k, good luck.
