ImKelsey I was just scanning the responses here, and I hope you don't mind if I just add some notes. I'm not into exchanging insults, and I hope you feel the same. I just wanted to say this about the following quote:
[quoteIt's total BS to liken the Democratic party platform to a socialist agenda][/quote]
Bernie Sanders was actually a member of the Socialist party, before he changed the name of his political affiliation to "Democratic Socialist" in order to be accepted into the Democrat Party. The Democrats stipulated, before he began to run for President, that he had to run as a Democrat Socialist or he could not run at all. The reason he switched his "skin" was because he couldn't get elected in 2016 as a straight socialist. There are 69 Democrat Socialists right now registered in Congress and in the House Judiciary Committee.
"How many of the DSA members sit on the Judiciary Committee?
A: Eleven: John Conyers [Chairman of the Judiciary Committee], Tammy Baldwin, Jerrold Nadler, Luis Gutierrez, Melvin Watt, Maxine Waters, Hank Johnson, Steve Cohen, Barbara Lee, Robert Wexler, Linda Sanchez [there are 23 Democrats on the Judiciary Committee of which eleven, almost half, are now members of the DSA].

AOC (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) worked for Bernie Sanders, and she also joined the Democrats, specifying that she is a Democrat Socialist, and some people now say that she, in fact, is the real Speaker of the House, because Nancy Pelosi is terrified of her.
The other Democrat Socialists are members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Link with names:

The last group that are also considered to be socialist in nature and the members of the Congressional Black Caucus, who have a very progressive agenda.
"Senate Members
As of 2019, there have been eight African-American senators since the caucus's founding. The six black senators, all Democrats, who are or have been members of the Congressional Black Caucus are Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey, elected in 2013, and Senator Kamala Harris of California, elected in 2016, both currently serving; former senators Carol Moseley Braun (1993–1999) Barack Obama (2005–2008) and Roland Burris (2008–2010), all of Illinois; and former senator Mo Cowan (2013) of Massachusetts. Burris was appointed by Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich in December 2008 to fill Obama's seat for the remaining two years of his Senate term after Obama was elected president of the United States. Cowan was appointed to temporarily serve until a special election after John Kerry vacated his Senate seat to become U.S. Secretary of State.
Senator Edward Brooke, a Republican who represented Massachusetts in the 1960s and 1970s, was not a member of the CBC. In 2013, Senator Tim Scott, Republican of South Carolina, also chose not to join the CBC after being appointed to fill Jim DeMint's Senate seat."

It should be noted that the majority of progressives are not true Socialists, but what we could call "Socialist Lite", the near beer of socialism. What they do, typically, is espouse two or three very socialist programs while keeping one toe on the Democrat second base. I think Bernie Sanders and AOC are the only true Bolshevik style Socialists, masquerading as Democrats.
Because the Democrat party has moved so far from it's historic roots with the new Progressivism, Blue Dog democrats are largely turned off. Blue Dogs are middle of the road democrats.
I know this is super, super long, but I was just a little bit surprised to hear you say all of the above is BS.
