Kamala Harris: Trump promised affordable health care - then he tried to rip health care away from millions of people. He said he was for working people - then he passed a tax bill benefitting the top 1% and the biggest corporations in this country. He's ripped babies from their parents, equated neo-Nazis with civil rights marchers, and believes the president of Russia and a North Korea dictator over the word of the American intelligence community. It's time for a new president.

"You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time."
Abraham Lincoln

@helenS wasn't that PT Barnum?
Ynotisay · M
@NorthernBear Barnum was supposed to have said, "There's a sucker born every minute."
Equally applicable to Trump.

@helenS first of all that wasn't Abraham Lincoln that said that that was Barnum from Barnum & Bailey circus

@dale74 Thank you - I always thought this excellent saying about deceiving people came from Mr Lincoln.
dale74 · M
@helenS but another famous quote was by Bill Clinton when he said had this been 20 years earlier Obama would have been carrying our luggage
Ynotisay · M
@dale74 It was attributed to Lincoln by some but to others as well.
helenS · 36-40, F
@dale74Is that true?!? 😳
Bill Clinton??
dale74 · M
Oh yeah do a search for the quote
helenS · 36-40, F
@dale74 Thanks, I believe you. Although it's somehow incredible.

@helenS Just to toss it out there, it might not be the wisest move to take what anonymous people say online to be the truth.

That quote, which is out there to feed the wingers, SUPPOSEDLY came from Tim Russert, who got it from "unnamed sources," in relation to Clinton trying to get an endorsement from Ted Kennedy. It showed up in a New Yorker article with no way to verify it.

Don't take my word for it though. I'm an anonymous person online. Here's the story. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2012/09/10/lets-be-friends

So since the guy you're believing already screwed up once with the PT Barnum attribution, it sometimes makes sense to take the extra step.

@Ynotisay I get your point, thank you.
dale74 · M
@Ynotisay there is a YouTube video somewhere out there
Ynotisay · M
@dale74 No there's not. And if there is it's fake. I shared the link with the very nice "HelenS." You're free to read that if you'd like.
