They had their good times and bad. It's funny to think that there was a time that they were one of the the most religiously tolerant place in the world. When the Jews were being chased out of everywhere, the Ottomans took them in. But nobody stays on top of their game forever. The greatest? No. But they weren't a bad lot. They were good for kicking the shit out of religious fanatics, atleast at one time they were.
