@DownTheRabbitHole It reminds me of the situation with China and Mao Zedong. In spite of how many millions of people died because of his actions, he's still widely idolized by Chinese people.

@DownTheRabbitHole Those things were rectified for the other ethnicities too, however possible. Degrees of success were related less to ethnicity or republic - but more to how rural/remote the areas were situated. By and large standards were fairly equal.

Anyway, RFSR was consistently #4 in individual consumer income and general quality of life, nor did it hoard federal investment.
The Baltics lead the way on both, strangely enough.
