Congress has just voted to hold AG Barr in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with their subpoena of the unredacted Mueller report?

I have heard conflicting stories about the legality of this proceeding. I have heard that AG Barr can not be ordered to break federal law by Congress, and that by providing Congress with unredacted materials relating to ongoing Grand Jury information Barr would be breaking the law.

I have heard that ALL information in the Mueller report is available to Congress except for protected Grand Jury information.

Remember when eric holder refused to turn over materials in his fast and furious scheme that cost a BP agent his life? Well, for one thing, they didn't file contempt charges until well after 400 days but it wound it's way through the courts and by the time the courts finally ordered the doj to turn over documents it no longer mattered. He was long out of office and out of their reach. The only difference was holder was not refusing to release classified or grand jury documents, i.e. he wasn't refusing to break the law as Barr is refusing to do. In short, they don't have much of a leg to stand on. It's all for show. Barr knows this, he's not worried. But he's smart, he has offered certain of them an opportunity to view the less redacted report in person and not one of them has taken him up on it. So, like I said, it's all for show.

@katielass the libs actually haven’t voted yet ... and trump hasn’t declared full executive privilege ... yet
@katielass

There's more to this than "show". There's more to this than the Mueller report itself.

The relentless demonization of Trump, Barr, Republicans, and anyone else in their way is to sharpen the divide between Democrats and non-Democrats. Then, IF they can take the Senate and the White House in 2020, they can justify (among the progressive faithful) the need to severely punish non-Democrats and bull-doze their progressive agenda across America:

Raise taxes on the rich, because the rich victimize the needy

Pay reparation for all the harm white people inflicted on black people

Shrink the military and declare war on anyone who doesn't bow to anyone claiming to be an environmentalist.

Force seniors to share their Medicare benefits with everyone else, whether citizen or non-citizen.

Cancel student debt.

Surrender more trade benefits to China

Apologize to Iran and North Korea, and send political advisors to Israel where they can undermine their elections.

@Heartlander yea, good points. But don't you think they're going about this the wrong way? If they were smart they'd be working to keep the House and take the senate regardless of who wins the WH. Then they could impeach and remove him and shove their un-American agenda down our throats like they did odumbocare. And as you can see, once it's done it's impossible to take back.
@katielass

:) "smart" isn't routine behavior for Democrats.

What we don't see is them looking for middle ground. No effort to entice Republicans to say: "well I see your point, but ...".

They are going for broke.

Why? No one with an ounce of sense puts everything on roulette one number with 38 to one odds against them. No one invests their life's savings on a single horse to win. There's a reason behind the all or nothing. It's either a "nothing else to lose" or something else.

@Heartlander Yes, there seems to be an urgency. Shortly after the election I postulated that the someone behind the scenes who is pushing this Marxist agenda was getting tired of waiting. Might be someone who thinks he doesn't have long to live and wants to see certain things before he kicks the bucket. That could explain the at any cost attitude. Of course, I could be wrong and it might be something else entirely. Like they're just this freaking dumb.

@katielass Pelosi has already said that they would not accept any election result where Trump was president . That is openly claiming sedition... and I bet she’ll shut it once indictments start being handed out .

@TexChik yea, I saw something on my msn feed the other day where she said she's worried he won't leave in 2021. I'm worried that there are people who think she's smart enough to be a rep in dc but there it is, an embarrassment before the entire world.

Obama never left the Whitehouse, he moved across the street and has been operating a shadow government for two years now. In open sedition he sends John Kerry to foreign lands telling the leaders to ignore Trump. @katielass
@therighttothink50

Pulling the curtain back to expose the grand wizard behind the shadow government may well be the fear driving the "all or nothing" Democrat war plan.

Considering how all the Democrats are on board as well as all their media stooges, there has to be some planning and coordination. What's commonly called "collusion" to bring Trump down.

It's like the Battle of the Bulge for Democrats, or their Tet Offensive. Their last gasp effort to save themselves. Let's remember that the Tea Offensive succeeded.

@therighttothink50 Yes, I'm aware of that. Isn't it odd that he couldn't run the country but he can run a traitorous scam.
