We have immigration laws for a reason, the same as every other nation on Earth. Either we are a sovereign nation, or we aren't, either we follow the rule of law, or we don't. There is no middle ground.

@PrivateHell There are lots of middle grounds - lots of exceptions and caveats we can make in cases like this, where someone was brought over as a toddler and made a life here - and a good, functional one.

@QuixoticSoul and has been here long enough to,know this could happen if he doesn't get legal. Feeling bad for someone isn't a good enough reason to overlook the law.

I feel for kids like this, I really do, but we can't just ignore laws we find inconvenient or we don't like. If we could, I would never pay taxes again.
