Which one do you fall into?

"Private companies must make any and all wedding cakes", or "private companies can ban whoever they like"?

I believe they have the right to make cakes and refuse cakes for certain occasions if they don't feel comfortable doing it. Yes it may suck for those people being denied it, but you can't force somebody to do something for you. You aren't entitled to anything you want in life. So yes I believe they are well within their right to reject service if they want to. It's their company, their rules.

@IWasCallingYaLarry What about facebook banning someone for legal speech, often due to political bias, when you hold the monopoly on social media, there being no meaningful alternative? Especially when if facebook bans you, twitter and Youtube tend to do the same?
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile While yes that is within their rights but that's an ethical problem. They are within their rights, of course. But do I agree with Facebook and Twitter doing that? Absolutely not. I think what Jack and Mark are doing is disgusting, especially since they tried to keep lying to people by saying "This isn't because of our political bias." Like are you kidding me? You're gonna ban someone like Paul Joseph Watson or Alex Jones and then lie about why? Come on, man. I'm not a follower of any of those people I mentioned, but I do believe they should have the freedom to say what they want on social media unless they are actually being violent or encouraging the harm of people. Freedom of speech.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry I'm glad we see eye to eye. It's also disgusting that you get people nowadays who pretend that "free speech" is "far right", and if you are "far right" it's okay to violate your rights. Which translates to "I can dehumanise anyone who disagrees with me or even just defends the rights of someone i disagree with" full on insanity.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile Exactly. It's insanity. I am a centrist but I'll defend anybody's right to speak their mind even if they say horrible things as long as they aren't harming anybody or calling for anybody to be harmed. I thought I lived in America but every day I hear stuff more and more about how freedom of speech is slowly being stripped away from us here. Sorry, but if someone doesn't support freedom of speech and they happen to live in America, then go live somewhere else. Go live in China or England or Russia where nobody in those countries has any freedom of speech. Ya know what I mean?
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry Same here, I was literally told me this insane, violent left leaning individual "if you wont condemn them doing the zeig hiel, you may aswell have done it yourself", so in other words "if you don't agree with me... you're a fascist... and if you're a fascist i can hit you". and my friend, i live in the UK, the insane leftist i just mentioned is also in the UK, you are right it leads to insanity like this. He can openly call for violence like this and have people support him. He's spread articles to justify violence against the right, I showed him that these articles didn't paint the full story, he just shrugged it off and did the same thing the next day. No consequences. Meanwhile, thousands of police visits a year for "hate crime" whilst police also officially give up on burglary due to low police numbers.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile That's ridiculous. I feel terrible for you people over there. I always hear from Tim Pool and others on YouTube about the shit that goes on over there and it makes me feel scared for you guys.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry Yeah, sometimes I want to post a comment online, a completely rational one that has nothing to do with "hate", yet I fear, and with good reason, of getting a knock at the door by the police, an overnight police station stay and a confiscation of my electronic goods to check my entire internet activity. And to make it particularly menacing, this is being pushed (establishment corruption) by the same fringe left who pretend to be fighting the establishment. Tim Pool is awesome! :D I dread to think how many of my friends would call him "far right" for the view of "we should have open debate with everyone"
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile I laugh when anybody calls him far right because he is a FUCKING SOCIAL LIBERAL XD . He's on the left lol.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry At this insane moment in time, cultural libertarians are considered "far right" by the fringe left. But wait, they conveniently change the label from "far right" to "troll" because they are aware of how extreme it makes them look. But we know that "troll" is a wink wink to their mentally ill friends.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile Lol yup. Also I find it hilarious how they get offended by people calling them NPCs but then feel it's okay to call anybody who critcizes them or disagrees with them trolls. Like sorry. You can't call somebody something and then be upset if they call you something back. That's not how any of this works. Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry The NPC meme is a great anology. and the fact that they will automatically respond, almost like a computer program, "racist meme!" even though it's mainly the centre using it to critique them, is so ironic. Any criticism of them and they try to convince people that that person/thing is far right, it's literal intimidation of "don't criticize us else we defame your very existence". Also, they are a lot like religious fundamentalists. They have their unquestionable doctrine, their blasphemy laws, and eternal punishment for heretics.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile Yup. Being an NPC is their religion lol. Oh and another go to for them is to call anybody who disagrees with them Russian bots xD . How cute.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry "we should dismiss any idea that we don't like as a conspiracy theory and condemn conspiracy theories, BUT preach about the russian collusion". To be fair, as one of the more studious kids back at school i was always a conspiracy theorist. I always wanted to learn and challenge what i thought i knew. It's the scientific method. Lazy and often fringe left people want to turn actually learning about the world, questioning what we know and authority and developing a more accurate model of the world around us into something stupid. Honk honk. Thinking is for crazy people.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile "Thinking is for crazy people, but it's okay when WE do it."
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry The fringe left don't think as much, though. Hence they resort to shutting down the argument because they don't have one.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile Yeah they know they'll lose. That's why. I got into an argument with an SJW on here a while back because we were debating gun laws after the Parkland shooting last year and all of a sudden he brings race into it and calls me racist when I never once even said anything racist at all. I even constantly asked him what did I even say that was racist and he couldn't even answer that question lol xD . And he kept calling me racist but then got butthurt when I called him an SJW.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry Have you seen the vile opinioned "fat phobia" whales who don't just compare telling a fat person to lose weight to racism, but say that it's literally racism? Because again they have no argument so need to shut it down, and up until recently, calling someone a racist did so. Not so much now as more and more people wake up to the left calling more and more things racist for political agendas.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile Yeah and I'm fat but I at least am doing something about it. I lost almost 50 lbs already. Being fat isn't the same as being gay or being black or a Jew or anything else. You can't compare those to being fat. You can lose weight, but you can't change skin color or your ethnicity. It isn't the same thing lol.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry They are absolute twats when they make excuses saying it's society's fault and compare themselves to being disabled, when many disabled people keep in shape despite their disabilities potentially making it harder to.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile As Hunter Avallone says, they want society to change for them but not wanna change themselves for society lol.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry They don't want to take personal responsibility and just want instant gratification rather than meaningful pleasure that requires development.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you are an adult, aren't you supposed to take responsibility for your actions 🤔?
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry Exactly, but they act like children in so many ways. They want to be able to eat lots of crap which you can afford to do a bit more as a child because a lot of the calories will be spent on growth. But once you've grown, those calories will be stored as fat. The males also use the excuse of beards being in fashion to not shave the patches of hair on their face.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@cunningcrocodile I mean I have a beard. But I at least shave lol.
cunningcrocodile · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry A proper one I assume? Not just patches under the neck and on the cheek? Which are there not because they think it's trendy (that's the excuse you tell yourself), but because they are too pathetic to look after their appearance?
