You just don’t like a woman you’d have no chance of controlling. That would certainly explain your obsession with her. 🤔

@bijouxbroussard I have no problem with a woman I can not control. I wish there were more of them. Women have grown weaker in the past 25 years or so. Women from the 60s and 70s were stronger willed and emotionally stronger than most "men" of today. Personally, I think that sucks.
@OwnerOfMany I guess it also depends on how you define “strength”.

@bijouxbroussard When you are speaking of strength of will or strength of emotion there is really only one way to define it.
@OwnerOfMany No, I’ve found some do have different definitions. Some people see strength in accepting their circumstances stoically, rather than in active resistance.

@bijouxbroussard Accepting is not my definition of strength. I am talking about those who refuse to be beaten. Those who stood against any opposition with shear will and held together emotionally through whatever life threw at them. Those with morals and character beyond reproach.
Truly admirable spirits.
@OwnerOfMany And unfortunately, the outward manifestation of those qualities is viewed differently based upon gender.
A woman is perceived as “holding together emotionally” if she is passive, whereas that same behavior in a man is less admired. Conversely, what is seen as “passion” in a man is often viewed as “hysteria” in a woman. “Boldness” in a man = “pushiness” in a woman. “Determined” is the man, “stubborn” is the woman.

@bijouxbroussard I was not comparing men and women past the point of your comment about definitions. I was talking only about women and the differences a few decades have made.
@OwnerOfMany And my observations were of living through those decades as female. Strength, when it comes to women, was and still is perceived differently.
OwnerOfMany · 90-99, M
@bijouxbroussard That is true to a larger degree but it depended largely on where you were in the country and your social status.
Also, I was not speaking so much of how a woman was perceived as how she actually was.
@OwnerOfMany Then how are you gauging the difference in the strength of women in general, if not by perception ? (I’m guessing you’re not actually 90-99 years old).
OwnerOfMany · 90-99, M
@bijouxbroussard By eventual outcome.
