Build The Wall And Secure The Border, Yes or No? The question doesn't need explaining other than to say that this means to only stop ILLEGAL immigration. Coming through LEGAL ports of entry would be welcome.

No. Just about every expert agrees that building a wall would be entirely pointless and ineffective. It is nothing more than a colossal waste of money that we can't afford to spend. Illegal immigration is only a symptom of a more severe problem, and any attempt at treating the symptom without addressing the underlying cause will be a fruitless endeavor.

@WindOfAdolf No, pundits are not experts. I mean actual experts. Like the researchers at Stanford University, Dartmouth College, and the Bureau of Economic Research. The Border Patrol internal Customs and Border Protection documents from 2017 also say that of the 902 border vulnerabilities they identified, a wall or similar barrier would only be helpful in 3 of those situations. What the border patrol actually requested was improved technology and an increase in manpower and resources.

@Madhatter But if you were looking for a specific Border Patrol officer, Matthew Eisenhauer is one who is on record as saying that a wall would do little to solve the problem.

@WindOfAdolf So scientists, who study for years and have all of the information, are partisan hacks that don't qualify as experts, and a few individuals within organizations who have partial information, anecdotal evidence, and are openly partisan are experts. Got it.

I also listed the names of my sources. You can look them up yourself.

One more name you can add to list is Amy Patrick, a structural and civil engineering professor at the University of Houston who goes in to more detail on how a wall will damage local ecology, create potential flooding problems, and do nothing to prevent someone simply tunneling beneath the wall or using emerging technology, like drones, to quickly and quietly fly someone over the wall.

There's also no shortage of people who will point out that the vast majority of illegal immigrants enter the country through existing checkpoints or through the proper legal channels. Not by physically hopping a fence.

@WindOfAdolf A nazi idiot embraces crackpot conspiracy theories and wants to shoot people who don’t look like him, shocking absolutely no one.
