@HermannFegelein If you need the electoral college to win, something has already gone wrong. This is where the republicans find themselves now, and it's not a good spot to be. Democrats won every single popular election since '92 except for one.

Electoral college wasn't meant to generate anomalous results, that was supposed to be a once-in-a-century sort of fluke.

@HermannFegelein You're missing the point. The EC is there to facilitate the "faithless elector" phenomenon, and has never exercised the power for which it was created. The whole "it protects the minority" and "without it CA and NY would decide the election" stuff are just silly myths for people who don't bother to do the math.

The anomalous results are actually not generated by the electoral college itself, but by the "winner takes all" mode of counting a state's votes. But that's not in the constitution - that's up to the individual states themselves.

I'd rather have a handful of informed citizens vote than an army of brain dead cattle vote based on what political party their mommy and daddy are supportive of. Democrats who know what they are doing are taking advantage of brain dead peeps to earn their vote. I'd be doing the same if I knew I can get an army of retards to vote for me.
