Should people in prison have the right to vote?

Does incarceration mean losing one’s citizenship ? That’s part of what voting is about.

@bijouxbroussard I hear you, but since they've already lost their right to liberty (by being incarcerated), is it not unreasonable that they should also lose their right to vote?
@Zoeoz That’s why I’m asking, do they lose their citizenship ? There have been cases in the past where inmates have been given the option of serving in the military for a lighter sentence.

@bijouxbroussard I would not say so. It's a question of whether their voting rights should be suspended while they're in prison, not whether they should be stripped of their citizenship.
@Zoeoz Then I would say no. Every citizen should be able to vote. And if they’re not losing their citizenship they shouldn’t lose their vote.
