When Jane Fonda dies, are you going to be patriotic enough to piss on her grave?

God fucking forbid someone criticize America for invading a sovereign nation that didn't attack them.

@TacoTuesday There ARE reasons to be angry at Jane Fonda for what she did during 'Nam. You haven't named any though. Want an example? She threw garbage at returning veterans. As despicable as the Vietnam War was, the troops weren't at fault. She should have thrown garbage at the bureaucrats who started the war, not the shell shocked young men coming home.

@TacoTuesday I don't drink alcohol. And drunk people can't type with coherent spelling and grammar like I do.

@TacoTuesday I'm not a drunk. Alcohol took my mother away from me. I will never drink because of that.
Not exactly invading@BlueMetalChick, since South VietNam wanted the help. The Politicians, subscribing to the "domino"theory. were happy to oblige to stop communism.

The ironic thing is that Ho Chi Mihn asked the US for help first, but the politicians did not want to oppose France.

@VeronicaJane The Western elements of South Vietnam wanted the help. That's why Duong was installed as leader of the Western-controlled half of the country.

And we can even forget about the concept of invasion in this conversation because the original point was that it's "Unamerican af" to have protested the Vietnam War. Meaning the OP also thinks it's "Unamerican af" to have protested the atrocities committed on American soldiers by their own government, mostly in the form of Agent Orange.
Sadly @BlueMetalChick, there were too many atrocities all the way around....

@VeronicaJane Isn't that the truth. From Agent Orange to Vietnamese torture techniques, the horror stories never stopped.

And I know just how bad torture is from personal experience. I was born in Sana'a, Southern Yemen, and at the age of twelve I was tortured for six days by Saudi militants because they thought I was a "Houthi insurgent" when really I was just a dirty homeless bitch.
