Socialism won’t work without a sense of community and accountability.
A friend of mine grew up in a commune. While aspects of it were great, he said it was a cult and that people hid from their accountability, using the communal aspect as an excuse.
For socialism to be effective at all, one needs strong and empathetic leadership. There isn’t a lot of that in the world right now.
Pure capitalism needs to be checked, but socialism is both extreme and unrealistic.
As a society we need to set standards for education, healthcare and commerce and hold everyone (individuals and businesses) accountable for those standards, not with punishment but by removing rewards.
