Is a wall a good solution to illegal immigration or at the very least a good start to trying to solve the problem why or why not?

It is a start. Congress didn’t allocate $1.375 billion dollars because they didn’t think it would have some impact. However, their reasoning was apparently that a lot of the funds that were requested for a wall would be better applied elsewhere....and the President signed off on the agreement.
Illegal immigration is obviously a problem....but is it a National Emergency to have a large amount of wall built quickly?
This is a problem that will never be solved, but the best way to combat it is to have strong security at ports of entry....as this is where most of the drugs (which are an even bigger problem) enter the country.
