He was good in some ways and bad in others. There are statues of him here and some Brits get annoyed at any criticism.
He was racist, imperialist and anti Union. He was also a great Orator and as a politician with a military background, he was well placed to be a war leader.
Brits were happy to have him during the war but he comprehensively lost his first election after, largely because he opposed the creation of the NHS.
