Why do some people believe Socialism is the way forward when it has never worked?

Why are the European socialist countries like the Scandinavian countries the happiest in the world? Because the government cares, not like other countries like communism, or Capitalism, or fascism governments. Look up the "happiest countries in the world" and the USA is in 24th place. Americans confuse socialism with Communism. Its like confusing capitalism with fascism. Its not the same.
@Carazaa Constitutional monarchies with extensive welfare systems are not "socialist". Socialism is , at best, the womb of oppressive mediocrity, and at worst, a power grab by evil politicians who want to hold on to their positions as long as possible, that is destined for pathetic failure.
Carazaa · F
Well I can tell that you haven't lived in Europe because 99 percent of the western world are happy with their countries who are socialistic. Americans have been brainwashed by big business and politicians that it is something bad. The least corrupt countries in the world are Singapore, Sweden, Canada, Luxenburg, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Hong Kong, Iceland, Austria, and Belgium. They all are socialistic. USA is not even on the list. Because Capitalism CORRUPTS! Look it up!@puck61
@Carazaa Says you! Extensive social services through high taxation do not a "socialist" country make. Capitalism encourages competition, which in turn creates improvement. Socialism is stagnant mediocrity and despotism in a clown costume. Socialism is like standing in a bucket and trying to pick yourself up by the handle. It is the very essence of failure.,

@Carazaa A country like Venezuela could easily (I think) adopt Socialism in a huge way because they’re oil rich. The government could easily subsidize people’s way of life if they wanted to.

But... the government there is so corrupted it failed.
Carazaa · F
Yes, like when Norway found oil and the government is sharing it with their country. Everyone in Norway got rich. Its just about caring for people and equality that counts there. I like USA but people don't like to share, they think its ok that there is homelessness and hunger while a few are rich. I think that should change. I don't want to be rich if someone else is homeless. That's not very fair.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Carazaa I thought the same thing. I only have like 6 close friends and I would want all of us to have the same. Why would anyone want to have more than the other? I don’t get that.
@Carazaa Most people who are homeless in the USA created their homelessness through poor life choices, or actually choose to be homeless. There are redundant escape routes.
Carazaa · F
Ha ha that is not the view of any other people in the world but Americans. It give them a good excuse to ignore them and do nothing. It doesn't matter why they are homeless. They are homeless so they need a place to live. In Sweden its a human rights issue that the government will take care of anyone who is on Swedish soil regardless of nationality if they are homeless because of poverty, drug use, mental illness, or fleeing another country. They care about the person, they don't judge them. That is a Christian philosophy. Jesus has called us to feed the poor.@puck61
@Carazaa Many of the countries you mentioned are moving politically right in direct backlash to the misery they inflicted upon themselves by being 'emotional' rather than 'rational'. We are all Hammurabi by nature, but compassion must be seasoned with common sense.
@Carazaa “USA is not even on the list.” Yes it is. I looked it up and found the following. This “list” (that you did not bother to name, source or even provide a link to) placed the Unites States of America in 18th place.* Considering there are 180 total countries on this list, it’s fair to say that if you made the top 20, you’re looking pretty good as you’re in the top 90th percentile (180/20 = 0.9) which is equivalent to making an “A.” But you somehow found a way to make the USA look bad anyway, indicative of bias on your part.

And when you look closely, you can see that the Unites States of America actually tied with the last two countries you named - Austria and Belgium - for 16th place (btw you listed Austria twice). You also left out the top 5: New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Switzerland as well as the last three: Unites States of America, Ireland and Japan of the Top 20 respectively, while you focused on the middle 12.

Which other European countries did you leave out? Estonia = 21st, France = 23rd, Portugal = 29th, Slovenia = 35th, Poland = 36th, Lithuania = 39th, Latvia = 40th. There are other European countries, but I think you get the idea. This is called cherry-picking, which is a context-leveraging tool commonly used in persuasive writing and often used by Social Justice Warriors while playing the Identity Politics game.

I took statistics at both the undergraduate and graduate level, earning A's in both, and can identify when someone is misusing numbers in trying to convey a false narrative. What I think you’re really trying to do is fool others by raising their emotional level and throwing out-of-context facts to get past their logic filter.

Do you not like America? Haven’t people who complain greatly like you moved out of the country yet? Wasn’t it not long ago when the great Liberal hoard proclaimed they were leaving the country? If you dislike this country so much, why not move out of utopian California? I hear it’s a wonderland now! I lived there myself for several years and glad I joined the exodus and moved out of that failing state. I left with almost nothing after being nearly homeless and within 4 years of hard work I saved enough to buy a nice two-story house and get a nice car. Rather than complain, why not do something for yourself instead? You’re Strong and Independent, aren’t you?

There’s nothing lower than a Christian trying to deceive others. And guess what? I’m even better at scripture than statistics, having studied Abrahamic religions for decades and know when someone is using subterfuge to convince others of falsehood. Using deception, which is a form of a lie, well isn’t a very Christian thing to do. Next time it would be wise to have your facts in order and a cloak over your dishonest intentions before passing judgement on others. Remember, “Judge not, lest ye be judged.” - Matthew 7:1.

PS - You knew if you did this long enough someone would catch you, right?

@DudeistPriest Damn! 👍
Carazaa · F
All the happiest countries are socialistic. I have lived in 4 countries and I can tell you have no idea how happy people are in those countries on the top of the list. I do. I wish Americans can learn from those countries. People are miserable and on drugs in the USA@DudeistPriest

That is a list from 2017, we are in 2019 now right?! But it still proves my point. USA is among the worst for quality of life by the western standards. We aren't talking here about un industrial countries.@puck61

We aren't talking here about un industrial countries. I have lived in other countries and there is a huge difference in standard of living for the average person! I wont even debate this unless you have lived in Europe and can compare, sorry!
@Carazaa Well, I will throw in my lot with the country that is economically light-years ahead of the rest of the world! You can continue to call constitutional monarchies with extensive welfare systems, "socialist"! 😆👍
Carazaa · F
You cant say that if you have only lived in the USA, because you simply don't know!@puck61
I don't need a meteorologist to tell me if it's raining!😆
@Carazaa Sorry, I don't argue with liars who claim they're Christians.

@Carazaa Ahhhh, you’re talking to puck61. I thought you were talking to yourself (he blocked me) until I happened to see his username.

I have to speak up against hate!I don't watch CBN, I don't listen to any preacher. I only read my Bible, and I love Jesus and all people, criminals, Muslims, gays, refugees, ALL people. And I will NOT stand for Hate! I have dedicated my life to volunteer and give away my money to missions. Jesus is coming any day and we have to feed the world with food and tell them about Jesus, not hate people.
I am not political but when I hear Christian hate, and worship of hate, that is Satanic I have to speak up!!
