Why do some people believe Socialism is the way forward when it has never worked?

When you say, Socialism, are you referring to a Communist State? What sort of government are you talking about? What does a Socialist culture look like to you? Can you describe it?

I ask because you claim it has never worked.

@SimplyTracie I'm referring to all types of Governments that have either attempted to, or referred to itself as Socialist, this includes Communism and Nazism. And no it never has worked, a Socialist society works only on paper, it even sounds good too, but it doesn't work in practice due to how it breeds corruption.

@PikachuTrainer I kinda thought you were talking about Communism and Nazism. You claim that ‘some’ people believe that that’s the way forward. Who are these people you’re referring to? Can you name a few?
PikachuTrainer · 26-30, M
@SimplyTracie quite a few Liberal/Left Wing groups, such as Antifa for example. And I'm not just limiting to Communism or Nazism, they are only 2 examples in themselves.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@PikachuTrainer I see, what other groups would you consider Socialism?

The Liberals want a Communism and Nazism type government? Jeez, that’s not good huh?

@SW-User Hey, I ask the questions here. 😠

I think the US is more Socialistic then people admit. It’s when the government provides aid to those Have Nots. You know, there are the Haves (Trumps) and then there are the Have Nots (people who have no food or medical care for example).

@SW-User I have a little. And it’s everything I need.
@SimplyTracie The last thing Antifa would want is Nazism. Their name stands for “anti Facism”. When the Neo-Nazis came to the college campus in 2017, people identified as Antifa fought them and protected students from them. Apparently they just recently came to the U.S. but conservatives are scared to death of them.

@SW-User We, or you and I determine that. Look around us. So much government waste and yet people are homeless.

Perhaps the Scandinavian countries might provide an example.

@SW-User Actually, I have way more and I would still be grateful if I have less. If you look around and you see people hurting and it brings tears and your heart aches, let that be the quantifier.

@SW-User I would definitely be willing to do so. But I don’t have much. For example, I drive a 2006 Civic. I’d be willing to have an even older car if that means you will have a car too. Do you have a car?

@SW-User I understand you not wanting to give up anything you worked very hard for. I would not ask you to do that. And I would not judge you if you could care less about the homeless.

What is your net worth? Three houses in the Hamptons? Just kidding. 😝

And I don’t have much of anything compared to you, that’s for sure. I have a saving and checking account but it probably wouldn’t even pay for a months mortgage on one of your three houses.

Having said all this, we should do nothing (socially) for those living in poverty? Like it’s their fault and it’s not our problem?

@SW-User But the difference is that you’re responsible only for yourself. Our government (should) look after it’s people, all people. Obviously, not all people needs looking after. Not I nor you, but a lot of people do need help.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SimplyTracie While people may need help the government is not the tool to use to provide such help.

@hippyjoe1955 If not the government then whom? It’s not gonna be you. You just admitted that.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SimplyTracie What did I just admit?
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@hippyjoe1955 Hahahah 😫 I thought it was Perkins who said that. Sorry.

You just snuck in. 🤭
