Because the early political theories of Marx, not yet attempted to put in physical practice had some common threads with liberal beliefs, but once it had became the worst horror ever visited on the human race.
The socialist economic plan of the communist system exempts itself from the accounting for morally appalling acts of sundry theft, murder, enslavement and thought crime to this very day. The biggest supporters and leadership of this terrible political ideology are already very wealthy and feel immune from the eventual slaughter.
The youth is ignorant about what will actually become of them if full communist socialism ever gets control of the government.
