Why do some people believe Socialism is the way forward when it has never worked?

People are getting rich off poor people by exploiting them and so many people can’t even afford to eat healthy and go to the doctor regularly.

@Spoiledbrat to be honest, I don't know that much about Socialism myself, but what I do know makes me hope it never happens to my country (UK), and I'm a Conservative/Imperialist.
