Those who don’t believe climate change is man-made, what happens when we run out of fossil fuels?

I understand your position is that pollution doesn’t significantly hurt either the environment or people’s health, and that clean energy will hurt the economy or in some way reward lazy people; however, you don’t deny, do you, that fossil fuels are a non-renewable resource? Or that we are rapidly running out of them? So, I mean, isn’t renewable energy inevitable? So mightn’t we just as well go ahead and make the transition now since it’s going to have to happen anyway? Just something I was wondering about at work this afternoon.

It does indeed seem that there is no legitimate argument for not moving to sustainable energy sources.

@Pikachu Name a sustainable energy source that is reliable enough to cover base load requirements of modern city living.
@hippyjoe1955

Given our current technology? I'm not sure if there is one.

But you've clearly missed the point, joe.

The fact is that our current model is based on a non-renewable resource.
That's a fact.
That means that we will not be able to keep using it. The only thing to do is to move to renewable energy sources.

If you have an alternative, please share it with is. It could be world changing.
Go on.

@Pikachu The point is that unless and until we come up with a real alternative there is no alternative. You wouldn't survive a week if the power went out.

lol 🎶Wroooooong!🎵

The point is that our current model for energy production is unsustainable and whatever the current limitations may be, we need to move towards a sustainable energy source or risk the collapse of our civilizations as we know it.

And nah. I've actually been lucky enough to have quite a lot of training in sustainable living, outdoor survival, felling and shelter making. I can make pretty much everything i need as long as i can start with a knife.
The only thing i lack is animal husbandry.

I'd be fine, son😎👍
