So i know politics is littered with national emergency threads at the moment but i'm still interested to know:

For those who think trump has made a good, wise and justified decision here, why do you think it was a good, wise and justified decision?

How do you feel about a president using a national emergency to bypass congress in order to achieve his political aims?
Would you be happy if a democratic president did the same?

The wall is necessary for national security. The Dems supported a wall and many voted portions of the wall under Obama. But they blindly hate Trump and oppose everything on his agenda. So Trump has to put the American people first and build the wall. He tried to get it though congress. But they fought him every step of the way. So he has to find other means.

@Lindaisfun So it's not at all relevant that the number crossing is at a 40 year low?
The wall is necessary for national security.
How so? How will the wall secure the nation? It won't keep drugs out. It won't keep criminals out. It won't keep illegals out.
Why? Because all these things come in on planes and trucks and boats or simply droned over the border.

So how is this wall necessary ?
Lindaisfun · 26-30, F
@Randy777 what?
Lindaisfun · 26-30, F
@Pikachu before I answer, have you ever been to or know people who live in a border town?

@Lindaisfun

For sure. Carry on.
PeachesGR · 61-69, F
@Lindaisfun Are you implying that the only ones that can speak about this live in a border town or know somebody that does? News crews have asked them and the people that live there say it's a great place to live..
HerKing · 61-69, M
I can parse it if you like but on every aspect you claim to be true, isn't.

What it can be boiled down to is Trump lies all the time and has always lied.
PeachesGR · 61-69, F
@Lindaisfun Yes, they fight him... he wouldn't get through all the hurdles for many years! *Well after 6 years.
Lindaisfun · 26-30, F
@Pikachu the situation is bad. The caravans That came from Central America is just one example. These people are not seeking aslym. If they were they would have gone to the Texas border to get to the US faster. They purposely went to the California border, 1,000 miles out of the way, because this is a political farce.

The border wall would help with the overall problem with the drugs and illegal immigration. It’s been proven that walls work. Israel being a great example.
HerKing · 61-69, M
@Lindaisfun Can you post your sources?
Lindaisfun · 26-30, F
@HerKing sources on what
@Lindaisfun

I feel that i explained how drugs and illegals are really getting into the country in numbers. How would a wall stop those avenues?
HerKing · 61-69, M
@Lindaisfun Sources to the stuff you posted.

@Lindaisfun Why can't you back up your adoration of Trump with facts to what he's spouted?
Lindaisfun · 26-30, F
@Pikachu you’re letting your opinion of trump blind you of common sense

@HerKing how about you answer my question first
