You've misrepresented your opponents point to give the illusion of having refuted it.

He's not saying that illegals should be coming over, he's pointing out that illegal immigration has historically been higher and it wasn't considered an emergency then.
Heck, it's not considered an emergency now even by a number of republican leaders.
