So i know politics is littered with national emergency threads at the moment but i'm still interested to know:

For those who think trump has made a good, wise and justified decision here, why do you think it was a good, wise and justified decision?

How do you feel about a president using a national emergency to bypass congress in order to achieve his political aims?
Would you be happy if a democratic president did the same?

President Obama did to make the now defunct Iran deal. So what’s easier getting a decent bill through a Congress with. 10% approproval rating or issuing an EO, having it run through the ninth circuit clown van and it being confirmed by the Supreme Court? I suspect option 2 which is what happened with the travel ban.

Are things supposed to work this way? A good question for the Congress supposedly representing US in DC.
@jackjjackson

Would you consider that to be on the same level as wanting to get a wall built?

Border security is more important than the terrible Iran deal. @Pikachu
@jackjjackson

That's not really what i asked. Ain't nobody saying border security isn't important. I asked you about the wall.
Is a border wall going to have a significant effect on keeping out drugs and illegal immigrants? Why?

Parsing isn’t helping your losing cause

Come on man, don't be a hypocrite.

I asked you a question. If you don't want to answer it then don't post.

@jackjjackson It shouldn’t work this way. You know that and I know that.

Your questions have been answered multiple times by multiple people. No matter how much and attempt to backtrack and rephrase the answers are the same. @Pikachu

@jackjjackson

No i don't feel that they have.
Please make the answer more explicit.

Me: Would you consider that to be on the same level as wanting to get a wall built?

You: Border security is more important than the terrible Iran deal.

Me: That's not really what i asked. Ain't nobody saying border security isn't important. I asked you about the wall.

You: i better call my secretary of education because you got schooled.

I don't think that entirely addresses my question...

@jackjjackson You asking the same question I already answered?

@jackjjackson Iran deal was an Executive Agreement, not an Executive Order or a State of Emergency. Those have become a long accepted tool of foreign policy, and past presidents negotiated thousands of them - hundreds a year on average, I think.

Travel ban was an EO, as was DACA - but those are framed procedurally and that is also something that's normal and accepted.

Declaring a State of Emergency to get around appropriations for a major infrastructure project really is something new.

I believe that additional barriers as per the impartial on the ground border experts are a part of a good border security package. I dint believe we need a 80’ soldi concrete wall from sea to shining sea. @Pikachu

Parsing again. “Infrastructure” is typical minimalization. BTW 57 emergency orders have been issues since 2000 including a large number by Obama. It’s just as routine as Ea’s EO’s, etc. @QuixoticSoul

@jackjjackson as it is, that's actually the way it works. Thats checks and balances working there. That long winded process is literally the most Constitutional way of verification of legality.
