where are you getting this information? I'm in Texas which is run by the Republican hard right, you'd think they'd have made a big deal of this.
@plankter979 Conservatives have been yelling about this for 20 years! Hell! I don't even much care for the term "Republican" anymore. Establishment republicans are just democrats wearing "I love my country" masks. Pffft!
@plankter979 See the link to the Statesman on this thread. There's also a Texas Tribune article on this.
It does look like there was an effort to make a bigger deal out of what's basically an effort to purge voting rolls, but it's transparent enough that it probably wouldn't have made much of a stir if Trump hadnt picked it up on Fox and Friends and tweeted about it.

@plankter979 Also what is reported is 58K people without proof of citizenship voting in a 20y period.
That is not the same as 58K illegal aliens voting. Plenty of citizens have no proof of citizenship.
Wrong? Yes.
A problem? Yes.
Still different than 58K illegal aliens voting.

@plankter979 I listened to a Town Hall last night held in Texas, and it was either the Governor of Texas or the news host who gave out that figure.
