@Pfuzylogic You are the poop beneath my boots. I wanted so badly to serve, and was not allowed by my father, who was a Bird Colonel. I went and got the medical exam. I was accepted and my father stopped me. You are just a piece of insulting crap. You started that way, you end that way.

@Pfuzylogic Who will ever know if that is true? My father didn't want me to be a Wack. Maybe he knew something I don't know. He did mention that I would never be able to get up at 6:00 am. Maybe he knew things I didn't know when I was 17, like what kind of women who would be my bunkmates. But I admired him so much, I wanted to be just like him. I wanted it so much. BUT...Dad's have a lot of control over their little girls.
My Dad was a purple heart, and recipient of the Silver Star. He had so many medals when he retired we didn't even know what they all were. We still don't know. There were so many.
Anyway, I just want to apologize for all the partisan things I said. I did not know you are a veteran who now serves the socialist cause.
I just want to tell you how much I admire you for your service. I would have served also, if my father had allowed.
My father would have been torn in two if he were still alive, by our political divisions today. He would have felt, quite seriously, as though he wanted to die, to see the Democrats so degraded. I am glad he did not live to see this.
I come from a long history of service. My father, my grandfather, and my great-grandfather...all in service....long before 1979. I don't mean to belittle the length of your service. I am just grateful for it, as I am grateful for our country and for the Bill of Rights and for the Constitution. Do you swear to uphold the Constitution when you swear into the military?

I look at this as a peace branch and I’ll accept it as such. I get political too at times but that is the great thing about this country. We can all have different opinions without someone having to be right. I served for that reason.
Your Father sounds like a very honorable man and you were fortunate to have him and I know he was looking out for your well being.
We do take an oath when re-enlisting.

I wish like hell that you were not a socialist, because you were actually willing to lay down your life for your country, just like I am. We are like our country...all part of the same thing. Different...divided...but we love the same thing.

This country vacillates so often in its political leadership and I embrace all of it. I preferred Obama and agreed with many of his positions. I think the huge tax cut was a mistake but we all have different opinions on political matters.

@Pfuzylogic I have people who want to do whatever to me because I went with the good feelings of the times and did not do my research at the time ( I was in the middle of a divorce and a double move), and voted for Obama. In retrospect, it was a mistake, but gosh, he was a smooth talker. He was Sooo good. You know, I still love the way he talks, but we can listen to him now on recordings and he was a liar...just like every other politician.

I think the comment that Romney made about looking down on over half of the voters hurt him, plus the fact he was going to gut Social Security for many about to retire. I have my own opinions on LGBTQ and right to life that might be considered different from the typical Democrat. However I do agree with the funding of most social programs and the curtailment of tax breaks for the rich which is essentially what trump did.
We all have our opinions on politicians.
