Should Ireland leave the EU and join the UK?

Of course it shouldn't and it's a ridiculous question but that is what an Irish Minister was asked by the BBC. 🤦‍♀️

Its about the Irish border question and anchor John Humpreys thought a 'creative' solution would be if EIRE left EU regulations and became sub-servient to British ones.

Britain can't mandate another country to leave the EU, not least one which fought a war of independence againts our armies a hundred years ago.

92% of Irish people told a poll that they want to stay part of the EU. probably about 0,001% of Irish people have any desire to re-join Brexit Britain.

They are too committed and there is no reason why they should ....the border can easily be protected electronically and it don't need the backstop...they are making it a much bigger obsticle than it has to be...even Barnier said so this week...

@Platinum A hard border means time consuming checks and possibly tariffs. It would be a disaster for their economy and the economy of NI
