Should Ireland leave the EU and join the UK?

Of course it shouldn't and it's a ridiculous question but that is what an Irish Minister was asked by the BBC. 🤦‍♀️

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/jan/26/john-humphrys-suggests-ireland-could-quit-eu-and-join-uk

Its about the Irish border question and anchor John Humpreys thought a 'creative' solution would be if EIRE left EU regulations and became sub-servient to British ones.

Britain can't mandate another country to leave the EU, not least one which fought a war of independence againts our armies a hundred years ago.

92% of Irish people told a poll that they want to stay part of the EU. probably about 0,001% of Irish people have any desire to re-join Brexit Britain.

I have a simple solution.

The people who want to leave the EU and stay with England should move to England.

What's the problem?

@cuppatea Loads of Irish people live her already lol.

Then they will suffer a hard border.

It's their choice. They cannot have it both ways.

They have chosen to be apart of England - which is a separate country. It's no different from any other border country.

If they don't like it - move.

@cuppatea its a bit of an arrogant attitude. The thing is that the EU is backing Ireland. Playing the bully when you have no power doesn't end well. I don't think there will be a hard border.

@cuppatea you do know there’s more than just England in Britain right?

@EmeraldOdinelle

And your point is?
EmeraldOdinelle · 22-25, F
@cuppatea it seemed like you were unaware based on your comment

@Burnley123

It's not arrogance, it's logistics.

And of course the EU should back Ireland - why shouldn't they?
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@cuppatea OK. If its logistics then the logistics of Brexit don't make sense, either politically or economically. This is why we are in such a mess.

@EmeraldOdinelle

Should I have said Great Britain? I thought that was a given??
cuppatea · 31-35, F
@Burnley123

That's the understatement of the year.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@cuppatea Well yeah but it needs stating cos so many still believe in Brexit.

@Burnley123

When are people in "Great" Britain going to learn to live with the consequences of their actions?

They voted to leave. Leave.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@cuppatea A narrow majority voted to leave and I wasn't one of them. I have to deal with the consequences of other people's actions.
