It's not suddenly. There's been attempts before this. And yes, the Republican congress dropped the ball. That's one of the reasons Republicans lost control of the House.

@Sicarium well there wasnt any shut down the last year... why ? if this was about really wanting a wall and not just publicity he could have had it
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@NoSugar No, there wasn't a shutdown because Republicans didn't shut down the government. That doesn't mean there weren't attempts to secure funding for the wall. Because there were.
NoSugar · 22-25, F
@Sicarium well... why? why didnt he try to find it when there was a realistic chance ? its didnt take prophetic knowledge to know the democrats will flip the house and there is no way ever they gonna finance it
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@NoSugar He did try. How many times I gotta say it? Remember the DACA compromise proposal?
NoSugar · 22-25, F
@Sicarium i dont remember a nation wide speech or a shut down last year.

last year it was like: no money for my wall.. who cares...

this year: no money for my wall.. how dare they.. i am going nuclear
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@NoSugar Holy. Shit.

Again, no, there wasn't a shut down because the Republicans didn't shutdown the government down. That doesn't mean there wasn't an attempt to secure funding for the wall. Already said that to.

You poor memory isn't an excuse to not read.

@Sicarium a shutdown is always the responsibility of the president... same was true for obama or bush or clinton.

so just lets do things like they went last year... spend all the money that was assigned to a wall last year. lets not change a thing.... oh wait... that didnt happen
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@NoSugar That is actually false. It is the responsibility of Congress to send a budget to the President. If the President doesn't sign the budget and government shuts down, then it is his responsibility.
NoSugar · 22-25, F
@Sicarium the congress did send a budget and trump didnt sign it...
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@NoSugar No, they didn't. If you're going to argue something, at least have some basic knowledge on the subject.

No appropriations legislation was enacted by midnight on the night of Dec. 21, resulting in a partial government shutdown. Negotiations are continuing, but the shutdown is widely expected to last into early 2019. Shortly after the swearing-in of the 116th Congress on Jan. 3, the House passed new government funding legislation under its new Democratic leadership. Those measures included a full-year omnibus for six of the remaining seven appropriations bills, which passed by a vote of 241-190, and a CR for Homeland Security through Feb. 8, which passed by a vote of 239-192. The Senate has not announced plans to take up the House-passed measures.

Sure. The bigots that are ejaculating all over themselves for a wall decided to elect liberals in place of conservatives because the conservatives were refusing to give the Orange Moron a wall.

Your mental gymnastics score: 0.01

@daisymay Yeah, I've seen enough of you to know that all you have is hate and ad hominems. Not interested in anything you have to say, to be honest.

@Sicarium "I got called out for being an idiot and now I has a sad."

Toughen up, snowflake.
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@daisymay See above, Exhibit A.
daisymay · 51-55, T
@Sicarium Can't address your idiotic assertion about why conservatives got trounced in the House? Hint: it isn't because of people wanting a wall, in fact it's the opposite.

Maybe try to make sense the next time you're spouting bullshit?
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@daisymay Exhibit B.
