Americans: how long do you think the shut-down will last and how will it end?

I'm not asking what you want to happen but what you think will happen. To me, it seems that it could go on a long time because both sides are committed to a position. I guess it's a binary choice: you build a wall or you don't.

Trump is going to have to find a way to back down from this. He's painted himself into a corner and he needs to save face. If he's as transparent as he's been in the past, he'll create a relief package, pat himself on the back and tell America he solved the shutdown issue. This sounds flippant, but it's quite possible it's what he'd do.

@sunsporter1649 How is building a wall along the southern border protecting the country? More than twice the amount of illegal immigrants fly into this country as try to cross over the border. Right now, travelers' lives are at risk, tourism is suffering, the environment is being destroyed and people are losing their livelihoods. How is that protecting the country?
