ICE released 1000 detained immigrants into Southern Texas this week. What do you think?

@Jackaloftheazuresand They released 500 Central American Asylum seekers Christmas day and will release 500 more tomorrow into El Paso Texas. They can't hold so many people in the centers. The migrants have arrived at the border and demand entry or in some cases cross illegally to request the ability to stay in the USA. Many migrants are fleeing economic hardship, some drug violence. The only way to not get turned back instantly is to request asylum. But it takes a couple of years for your case to be accepted or rejected.

@OggggO I think he means that in the USA economic circumstances is not a valid reason for asylum to be granted.

Really my point is that regardless of what the politicians tell you, there has been only one real policy concerning immigration, illegal or otherwise, and that is to have plenty of it.

Whether pro-immigration, or anti-immigration, I'm not delving into that right now, but the government is decidedly pro-immigration, and all this propaganda you hear about controlling the border etc, is just lies, has been for decades.

Just because they come froim poor countries, does not make them a refugee seeking asylum. Seeking asylum means things like fleeing oppressive regimes and genocides. Sorry, but " let 'em all in for any reason" isn't a solution or solving any problems. It's just spreading them and the burdens.
