Who wants a constitutional crisis for Christmas?

A lot of sealed indictments are under the tree, just waiting to be opened.

Don Jr. and maybe Jared's names are on the naughty list.

All Manafort wants for Christmas is a presidential pardon.

In all likelihood, we are going to find out about collusion within the next month. It is going to be extremely damaging for the president, and he's going to lash out.

Will Republicans continue to support him? My bet is that rats are going to start leaving the sinking ship.

Someone got into the eggnog early Woody.

@jackjjackson You've not been following Trump's increasingly deranged tweets, I gather?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I’ve seen the President’s tweets and do not share your description. @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson They look pretty aggressive and refer to things that aren't public knowledge. And there are a lot of them.

Normally, 'hinged' people only tweet a lot against information that everyone is aware of that they find objectionable.

But that has been the issue all along... if Trump didn't tweet about the Mueller investigation, nobody would.

But we have learned a few things this week that suggest that Trump might be screwed.

We'd think that maybe ... until Trump freaks out about them. Then we're sure.

You’re deluding yourself with what you want to hear. You may be so off target that even Manafort’s conviction may be overturned on appeal. @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson Nope. You are deluding yourself. It can't be overturned... he confessed. You can't unconfess. That's it.

And now he's opened himself to new charges.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
There was a trial. That is why he is in prison. Regarding the plea bargain the question is whether Manafort or the Mueller team breached the terms of his deal. That will be decided by a court not the media. @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson Yes, and we'll find out. But he pled guilty to a bunch of stuff, and you can't appeal your own guilty plea.

As for whether he breached the terms of his deal, they obviously caught him in multiple lies, that they can prove in court.

The standard for the court here isn't "reasonable doubt" either. For cooperation agreements its 51%, or more probable than not.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Both sides have obligations in a plea deal. Have you seen the terms? I thought not. We will see which side didn’t perform 51% of its obligations. @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson The obligation of Manafort is to tell the truth. The obligation is for the prosecution to give a sentencing recommendation. Manafort didn't tell the truth, and the prosecution will show evidence of that.

Also, and this has already been admitted by Trump's lawyers, he shared information with now (even if not before) co-conspirators. That itself is a violation.

So we have already seen enough, and there is more to come.

And Trump knows it, which is why he's going off the rails on Twitter.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
There you go again Woody assuming what you’ve “heard” from a biased source. More likely the deal specified what words Manafort would say, we do not know what they are and the time for him to say them in some unknown forum has not come. You may be right Woody but you are getting ahead of yourself. In addition, in these type of deals the government agrees to many types of things. @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson But they always preclude active cooperation with other suspects ...

And I "heard" from Trump's tweets that he's still freaked out, so ...
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The President’s tweets are not directed at one person Woody. You’re starting to sound like s liberal version of Alex Jones (I hear he is a right wing conspiracy theorist) lol. @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson Well, given that they frequently mention specific people by name, that isn't really true.

Plus, panic is panic, regardless of who it's directed at, so what's your point?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Seems to me you’re trying to create panic where none exists. @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson You obviously haven't read his tweets.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I have and he is on point. @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson Well, he's on a point. Not a point that explains important events over the last two years, or the repeated lies that he and his campaign have told... more a point that substitutes bullying and bluster for actual information.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
So you apparently do not care for the President. @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson True. I also don't care for Russian military intelligence. What's your point?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
What does Russian intelligence have to do with anything?@WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson Is that supposed to be funny?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Have you seen a determination of Russian collusion that I have not? @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson Apparently. What is now public record is that the Trump campaign knowingly benefitted from Russian government support, at least attempted to conspire with the Russian government, and then lied about that knowledge and meetings with the Russians after the fact.

Also public record is Trump's role in obstructing inquiries into this support and his campaign's liaisons with Russian intelligence assets after the fact.

There are many details that still require elaboration, of course. But that's already enough.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
What you wrote requires more than elaboration it requires facts not simply hopeful speculation. @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson Those are the facts. They can be found in Papadopoulos' guilty plea, Don Jr.'s emails, the Trump Tower meeting attended by Don Jr., Manafort and Kushner, and the lies told by Trump himself (later admitted) about that meeting.

Trump also gave a pair of speeches in which he hinted at the release of information gained from the Russians that we now know coincided with meetings between Trump officials and Russian spies.

The fact of Russian interference has been stipulated to by all major western intelligence agencies, and confirmed by Pompeo, Coates and Bolton (all Trump appointees). It is also laid out in indictments laid out by Mueller against various Russians.

This is all a matter of public record, and has been admitted by Trump's campaign officials, WH lawyers, Don Jr. and Trump himself.

And that's just the stuff that is beyond dispute or speculation. There appears to be more coming. Manafort's sentencing will include evidence of his lies, and he is at the center of the collusion efforts. Then there are the Corsi-Stone indictments. Assange is in play, and there has been an usual spike in sealed indictments that are probably related to this case.

So much more to come. But what we know to be true is enough.
