Some of it is funny but its black humour.
I was binge watching House of Cards the other day and it really brought it home to me how ridiculous and strange the Trump thing is; in a horrible way. House of Cards is an ultra-cynical view of 'normal' American politics but now it seems really out of date. Frank Underwood murders people, bribes and blackmails people and so on but he still seems like a more plausible President than the actual real-life American President.
