@MarmeeMarch What? A lot of people make an invasion? This is likely band of travelers who've joined each other along the way. It's likely not an invasion posse that set out together from Honduras.

More than anything, they're people with almost nothing and we are a nation of plenty. Some might argue an ethical duty to help.

Truth is: we are a nation of lazy people who want something for nothing. There are jobs that are “beneath us”

The reason there are so many attempting to emigrate here is there there are JOBS for them. There is opportunity.

Building a wall won’t stop them from doing that. We should admire this tenacity, not punish it.

We need to collectively look ourselves in the mirror and admit reality.

Japan has a strict immigration policy and they are literally suffering from a shortage of labor.

@JoeyFoxx I am sure that if companies dont get their labor they will continue with they are already doing and moving plants and factories overseas or elsewhere. They will get their labor.

@MarmeeMarch We have more money than we know what to do with. We point out that we can't help the world because we have our own great troubles, like poverty inner-city crime and drugs. And yet we never do anything about it. That doesn't signal a dearth of resources - it signals apathy.

People in this country line up to get the newest phone or video game. We pay ridiculous prices for fashion and cosmetics. We go to bars and are willing to pay a 1000% markup on a drink because it's the trendy thing to do. We sell cars like their throat lozenges and have more toys and we can even store.

It's not that we aren't a nation of plenty; it's that those who already have it never want to share it with others.

@MarmeeMarch I should clarify... the ILLEGAL immigration numbers are as low as they have ever been. This entire thread has, in fact, been about the fear of illegals. I assumed you were smart enough to stay on topic.

But, that graphic is helpful nonetheless.

The population of the US is 325 million, so on an annual basis, immigrants account for a about 1/6 of a percent of population growth, so less that 15% of the annual population growth in the US is due to immigration. All very small numbers.

As I mentioned, you can argue semantics all you want. we were talking about illegal immigration... and you posted a graph about legal immigration. You changed the subject, not I.

I didn't call you a bitch. Bitch was used as a verb. If you look it up, it's slang for complain, something you do quite a bit.
