@strongbow This happened at several points throughout the campus, this one in particular might be the "refusing to move" guys. There were at least two times when the protesters were arrested and being detained on the ground.

She's telling them to step back so they do, guy in the brown jacket walks away from the police line, towards the camera, and still gets attacked. What the fuck are you expecting these people to do?

This is not far behind the infamous "police riots" that occurred here in Chicago in '68. But I'm sure you support that too.

I don't know about these UC Davis protesters. Maybe there's some back story. When I was coming up they just pulled you apart and carried you off and threw you in a van. I don't know what changed that makes that impossible.

There's no doubt in my mind police are more militarized and ready to bust heads than ever before. We had a famous case here of the police apprehending a suspect in a neighborhood. A resident, an old lady, came out and asked the police what happened. Without getting an answer she walked away and was tased in the back.

@CopperCicada Here in Chicago, the police were given bayonets out of military surplus. So that's just great. Now they can maraud around impaling people on bayonets.

@BlueMetalChick WTF? They have bayonets now?!?!? If they're running around with bayonets, that'll really add to the fun and atmosphere at the Bears game when I go next week.

@SW-User Not that many of them have bayonets but they bought I think three hundred of them from military surplus.

@SW-User Are you kidding? They'd love nothing more than a citywide civil war. I mean, come on, this is the police department that busted into people's houses and hotel rooms to beat the shit out of them for no reason during the 1968 Democratic Convention.
